Training New Program Leads

By training new Program Leads, members of our community further our mission to directly serve children experiencing poverty and homelessness. These volunteers underwent comprehensive training that included:

  • Familiarizing themselves with drawchange’s core values and methodologies

  • Learning effective strategies for engaging and supporting children

  • Developing art therapy techniques, adapting programs to meet individual needs

Through our training sessions, we can be sure that each Program Lead is equipped to uphold the drawchange standard, which is known for, making a difference in the life of each child that enters a drawchange session.

By incorporating new Program Leads, we're laying a strong foundation for the future, directly contributing to the stability of our programs with:

  • Consistent Quality: Training leads maintain a uniform approach, ensuring every child benefits from a consistent, high-quality experience.

  • Reliable Delivery: With more trained individuals, we ensure programs run smoothly even if unforeseen circumstances arise, preventing disruptions.

  • Leadership Development: New leads gain valuable experience, growing into future mentors and advocates for our mission.

  • Volunteer Support: A stronger team prevents burnout and ensures our volunteers feel supported and empowered.

Supporting Long-term Sustainability

Beyond immediate program benefits, training new Program Leads is a crucial step toward our long-term sustainability as an organization:

  • Community Engagement: Engaging volunteers deeply with our mission strengthens community ties and builds a network of advocates who can support drawchange in various capacities over time.

  • Scalability: With a robust team of trained volunteers, we expand our reach without overextending resources, allowing us to serve children effectively.

  • Leadership Development: Empowering volunteers with leadership roles ensures we have a pipeline of experienced individuals ready to step up as needed, supporting the organization's continuity.
